Leavesden Montessori

Our Story

Leavesden Montessori was registered in March 2013.  This wonderful educational establishment was started by Dipak and Shital Shah.

Shital was a trained teacher who had worked in many of the state schools in Hertfordshire.  In 2002, she decided to retrain as a Montessori Directress and set up a Montessori environment that would be an Educational establishment with a difference.  She successfully set up Sitara Toto Montessori in Borehamwood, based at the Scouts Activity centre.  She ran this establishment for many years, leading it to have two successful Ofsted outcomes as an Outstanding establishment in 2011 and 2016.

Having had two unique Montessori establishments, both the establishments became very busy.  Meanwhile Dipak, who had a busy career in London, was also supporting Shital with all the administrative elements.  Dipak joined Leavesden full time in 2014 and has since helped implement many IT related resources.

Sitara Toto Montessori changed hands in 2018 and subsequently Sitara Toto trust - a charity to support enhancement of Education in poor regions in the world was set up in 2019.

Leavesden Montessori continues as a Unique AMI Montessori environment supporting children from all backgrounds.  Shital and Dipak continue to be hands on, supporting the staff team, parental community and being around.
